Nowadays, at the turning period of the global industry restructuring and revolution, the Industry 4.0 is ready to come out. Based on the novel electrical and information technologies, such as smart sensors, data storage, and flexible electronics etc. , the production method and lifestyle of human is deeply transformed by IoT, Big Data, next-gen Network, and wearable devices.

In China, with the publication of “National Development and Promotion Outline of Integrated Circuit Industry”, the integrated circuit industry is experiencing the key stage of burst development. In the meantime, as the national center of the technology innovation, Beijing is exploiting current advantages, building optimal development environment, and promoting interconnection between academic research and industrial application, which would lead a great leap forward development of the future chip industry.

Beijing Innovation Center for Future Chip (ICFC) has been establish in 2015, with collaboration of Tsinghua University and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, as one of the first indentified advanced innovation centers sponsored by the Government.

Learning from world top innovation center, combining with China’s reforming force,ICFC is aiming to build a world-class innovation center in IC field,to achieve research results with significant international impact,promote Beijing IC industry development and support the development of Beijing Nation Science and technology Innovation Center.

ICFC was built on Tsinghua University’s existing exquisite technology and talent advantages,focusing on the revolutionary device, chip and system technology in the next 5-10 years. Aside with Department of Microelectronics and Nanoelectronics, Department of Precision Instrument, Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Technology, Department of automation, Department of Physics, etc., ICFC has formed six divisions including, Microelectronics, Optoelectronics and Flexible Integration, microsystems、Brain-like Computing、Fundamental and Frontier、comprehensive application and Nano fabrication Technology Platform. The Center Director is VP of Tsinghua University, Dr. Zheng You, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

北京市未来芯片技术高精尖创新中心成立于2015年10月,是北京市教委首批认定的“北京高等学校高精尖创新中心”之一。

中心充分发挥清华大学的学科、科研和人才优势,联合微电子所、精仪系、电子工程系、计算机、自动化、物理、先进材料等院系资源,组建了微电子、光电子及柔性集成、微系统、类脑计算、基础前沿、综合应用六个分中心以及微米纳米技术支撑平台。中心主任由清华大学副校长尤政院士担任。

中心以服务北京和国家创新驱动发展战略为出发点,致力于打造国家高层次人才梯队、全球开放型微米纳米技术支撑平台,聚焦具有颠覆性创新的关键器件、芯片及微系统技术,推动北京未来芯片产业实现跨越式发展。
